Head Cold and Vampires

Perhaps it was this head cold exploding in my head,
or the fact that I sewed like a mad woman trying to get Mod Pop done...
but either way, I did not do any sewing this past week.

Instead, I curled up with 2 books, my cats and explored all the QuiltCon photos on Instagram.

Here is Merlin laying on my lap.  As usual, under a quilt!

The first book I read was Book 3 of the Immortal Instruments Series,
City of Glass, by Cassandra Clare.
My daughter is falling behind in this series and its frustrating not to be able to discuss all the excitement!

The second book was the long awaited 3rd novel in the  Bloodlines Series by Richelle Meade,
The Indigo Spell (released February 12th).
Ms. Meade's first series, Vampire Academy, had some wonderful minor characters in it and lucky for us she gave them their own series to star in.

Now we await book 4, Fiery Heart, which is scheduled for release in November. *sigh*
My daughter informs me that casting has begun and the first movie of the Vampire Academy Series is slated for the silver screen in February 2014!

Yes, I know, they are young adult novels, but when you are a psychotherapist sometimes the supernatural world is a much needed escape from reality!

Finally, I did receive this picture Friday from my husband's cousin.
Here is Julian all snuggled in his afghan I crocheted for him.

If I can ditch the head cold this week, I'll be back in the sewing room!
Have a wonderful week everyone!

  1. Looks like you kept pretty busy without sewing - sometimes a break is good.

The afghan, and baby, are darling - what a lucky baby.

  2. Loving Julian in his afghan, absolutely adorable and hoping you're feeling much better by now. Did you see Victoria Findlay Wolfe's QuiltCon 'Best In Show'? Victoria's president of my quilt guild here in NYC and I can't wait to get to see that winning quilt at a future meeting :)
