We have had a wonderfully busy weekend!
My daughter was involved in her second volleyball tournament with her club. After a poor showing on Saturday (1 win of 6 matches), they went 6 for 6 on Sunday and took home first place!
The girls were so excited! In their first tournament 2 weeks ago, they were sent home very early on the second day. This picture of her makes sitting 7 hours in a volleyball gym on Saturday and again 7 hours on Sunday worth it!
So when I was home, I played with hexies. The glue pen from Sewline is amazingly quick. I was able to whip together all these hexies.
I am toying with the idea of using 3 shades of blue with 1 1/2 inch hexies for my Get Your Hex On Bee block.
My idea is to send enough blue of the 3 shades and then have my fellow bee-mates add some prints from their stash to make any type of design they wish, within the blue background.
Then I shall attach them all, and it will look like the ocean with different things floating on it.
What do you think??
I also whipped together February's Queen Bee's block. It is halfway sewn together.
She sent out wonderful reds and pinks and said we could add to it if we wished. Since I don't like pink, I was having a hard time arranging the hexies. I finally decided to get rid of the pink and add solid red. I hope she likes it. I have basted up the pink hexies and will send them back to her. Perhaps she can find something to do with them.
And yes, while I worked on all these hexies I watched all of Season 1, 2 and caught up to last night's episode of Downton Abbey. I'm not sure if watching the show was an excuse to work on Hexies, or working on Hexies was an excuse to watch the show? :)
Please let me know what you think of my blue hexy block idea.
Have a wonderful week!

Wonderful - the first place and the hexies!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE the way you arranged them - so great! And, yes, send them back - they'll go into the border. Congrats on the tourney as well!!
ReplyDeleteSeems like you've got the balance thing working ok. I'm in the Hexie Hive N°2. Hope I'm as productive with my Hexies! :-)
