My first quilt along top is pieced together! I didn't "trail along" too far, either.
Tops were to be completed by December 2nd, and mine was finished on Sunday, December 9th. :)
To catch you up, this was a QAL hosted by Leanne at She Can Quilt.
The pattern is called Mod Pop designed by Julie at Distant Pickle.
The fallen leaves weren't allowing it to lie flat. The creases from the overnight fold weren't helping, either.
Close up of the fabric which is Mod Squad by Dan Stiles at Birch Fabrics. This is the first time I've used a line of fabric instead of mixing and matching. I am not sure I am a fan of this type of quilting. The solid is Kona Pistachio (I think).
After the last ironing, I had it on my bed for everyone to see and Morgan (left) and Merlin (right) showed their approval! Merlin belongs in the picture because he is my right hand cat when it comes to sewing. Morgan, she is just a camera ham!
I think I shall call it Mod Pop Squad. Combining the names of the pattern and the fabric.
I'm sure it will sit around now for awhile. I really do dislike quilting and not even sure how to go about it with this one. Any ideas????

Oooh, your top does look pretty! Too bad you can't show it off in person :( I should say I never have a problem completing the top, but stop before basting. Would you say that's my least favorite part?:)
ReplyDeleteI would probably do echo quilting maybe 1/2 inches apart.
